China is willing to strengthen security cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and enhance practical cooperation in other areas under the Belt and Road Initiative, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told his Kyrgyz counterpart Erlan Abdyldaev during a meeting in Beijing on Friday.
According to Xinhua, Wang said the two countries are good neighbors, partners and friends, and that diplomatic relations between China and Kyrgyzstan have maintained healthy development since they were established 25 years ago.
Wang stressed achievements made in President Xi Jinping’s meeting with Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev early this year in Beijing. "China will strengthen cooperation on security and anti-terrorism with Kyrgyzstan and implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries," he said.
Abdyldaev said Kyrgyzstan is excited about the upcoming Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in mid-May, Beijing, and will actively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative.
