A military conflict between safety guards and a local armed group broke out in Kokang, northern Myanmar's Shan state on Monday morning.
The conflict erupted after the group launched attacks on several streets in Laukkai, Kokang's capitol. The clash is still ongoing, as gunfire was heard by residents in the border county of Nansan in southwest China’s Yunnan Province.
A video taken by a local resident shows some cars were damaged in the conflict. So far, no casualties have been reported.
