Delegations from the ROK and the DPRK held a brief meeting on various issues, including Pyongyang's latest missile launch, on the sidelines of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing on Sunday, reported Yonhap.
Park Byeong-seug, leader of the South Korean delegation, had a short conversation with Kim Yong Jae, Pyongyang's minister of external economic relations, according to the report.
After the meeting, Park said he believed Pyongyang is looking forward to a summit with Seoul. He did not provide further details.
Earlier in the morning, the DPRK launched a ballistic missile from an area in the vicinity of Kusong, North Pyongan Province. It is the first missile launch since South Korean President Moon Jae-in took office on Wednesday.
