A seminar on international communication opened on Thursday in the eastern Chinese city of Yantai in Shandong Province.

Deputy director of the State Council Information Office, Guo Weimin, said that China is at the center of the world stage and the world wants to learn more about the country.

Guo said communications and media workers need to find better ways to tell their stories so that China's voice is heard.

Some 400 people from universities, think-tanks and media organizations attended the seminar.
