Leung Chun-ying meets with HK CE-elect Carrie Lam

Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying met with CE-elect Carrie Lam at the Office of the Chief Executive on Monday morning. During their talks, Leung congratulated Lam on Sunday's election victory, saying he would support her and help her with her future work.

Lam reiterated her campaign pledge, saying that she would work to unite society. She also said this is a historical moment, and that she will work with all related people and departments to prepare for the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China.

A press conference was held after the talks.
Lam will later meet with the chief judge of the HK High Court and president of the HK Legislative Council.
An office has been assigned to the chief executive-elect to process the handover. Leung's term expires on June 30, with Lam set to takeover from July 1.
The Electoral Affairs Commission of the HKSAR declared earlier on Sunday that Lam won the election, having garnered 777 of 1,163 valid votes in the first round of voting held on Sunday morning.
