Chinese Rural Revitalization: Strategy to be fully deployed and implemented
[]
The Chinese State Council has announced the country's strategy for rural re-vitalization. On Monday, senior officials presented a package of policies under the "No. 1 central document", which charts a roadmap for development in rural China.
HAN JUN, DIRECTOR OFFICE OF CENTRAL RURAL WORK LEADING GROUP "The rural vitalization is not only about economic development, but also all other aspects, including political, cultural, social, and ecological progress, as well as the Party's building. The ultimate aim is to speed up modernization in rural areas."
The objectives for different stages are now more specific.
By 2020, the strategy will help establish an institutional framework and policy system. No one in China should live under the existing poverty line and rural productivity and agricultural supply will improve substantially.
By 2035, "decisive" progress should be made, meaning rural areas should see a basic modernization of agriculture. All Chinese people, both in cities and rural areas, should have equal access to basic public services. And integration between urban and rural aras should improve.
By 2050, rural areas will be on course to have a strong agricultural sector, a beautiful countryside, and well-off farmers.
