Xi says Belarus is China's key partner in B&R cooperation

Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Tuesday that China sees Belarus as an important partner in the Belt and Road and hopes the two countries cooperate more in trade and investment.
Xi made the remarks when meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, who attended the two-day summit on China's Belt and Road initiative on May 14-15.
Xi said China has established a comprehensive strategic partnership with Belarus since September last year, enjoying mutual trust and win-win cooperation. The two countries have supported each other on issues related to core interests and major concerns, as well as collaborated both in international and regional issues.
Xi also stressed the important role Belarus plays in the Belt and Road development and called for strengthening policy communication and integrating development strategy, also cultivating new cooperation growth points.
President Alexander Lukashenko expressed Belarus's willingness to cooperate with China and expand cooperation and communication in fields including investment, culture, tourism, sport and energy. He also welcomed Chinese enterprises to join Belarus's major construction projects like the China-Belarus Industrial Park.
