A federal judge has temporarily barred US President Donald Trump's administration from ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
District Judge William Alsup ruled in San Francisco on Tuesday that DACA must remain in place while litigation is being resolved. DACA shields young people brought to the United States illegally by their parents from deportation, and currently nearly 700-thousand are under the program's protection. The Trump administration had announced it would rescind DACA last September.
