Chinese President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart Donald Trump discussed the situations on the Korean Peninsula and in Syria in a phone call on Wednesday, days after the two leaders' first meeting in the US.
President Xi made it clear that China wants a Korean Peninsula free of nuclear weapons, as well as a peaceful resolution to tensions. He added that a political solution would be the only way to solve the Syrian crisis.
