Panda in France: First public appearance for panda cub at Beauval zoo
[]
The first panda cub to be born in France made its first public appearance on Saturday at Beauval zoo in Paris. The four-month-old cub is named Yuan Meng, which means "the realization of a wish" or "accomplishment of a dream". The French president's wife Brigitte Macron officially announced the name. The panda's parents are on loan to Beauval from China, and the cub will be sent to a Chinese panda reserve when it is weaned within two or three years.
