The passenger who was dragged from a seat he paid for on a United Airlines flight last Sunday is seeking legal action against the carrier.
Dr. David Dao's lawyers filed an emergency request with an Illinois state court on Wednesday to require the carrier to preserve video recordings and other evidence related to Dao's rough treatment.
It is expected that the public outcry will push the airline to a quick and generous settlement. Dao hired two lawyers to represent him, one specialized in personal harm cases, the other in aviation lawsuits. According to one of the lawyers, Dao suffered a significant concussion, a broken nose and lost two front teeth during the incident. He may need to undergo re-constructive surgery.
Chicago's Aviation Department said two more officers have been placed on leave in connection with the incident. One officer involved in the incident was suspended on Tuesday.
