At least 15 people were killed and 20 others injured after a bus smashed into an electric post on Monday in Tanay, Rizal, the Philippines.

The bus carrying some 50 college students from Bestlink College of the Philippines was on its way to Sacramento Adventure Camp in Tanay for a field trip. The bus was out of control before it hit an electric post and trees along a road in Tanay, according to initial investigation.

At least 10 students were confirmed dead on the spot, local police director told media. The driver of the bus was also killed in the accident.

 The injured students, aged 18 to 19, have been hospitalized.
