The more than 200 DPRK cheerleaders will be rooting for athletes from both sides of the peninsula. The 229 young women were among a delegation which crossed the Demilitarized Zone that divides the two countries. They boarded a convoy of South Korean buses to take them to Gangneung, where the ice hockey events will be held. The DPRK previously sent cheerleaders to three international sports events hosted by the South, back in 2002, 2003 and 2005.
