Nobel Prize 2017: British novelist Kazuo Ishiguro takes prize for literature

British novelist Kazuo Ishiguro has won this year's Nobel Prize for Literature.

His previous works include "The Remains of the Day", which was turned into a popular movie of the same title, and "Never Let Me Go". Among the many Chinese writers who were thought to be in the running, Yan Lianke was said to have had the best chance for his imaginative style and his work on rural issues.
