‍Newly-elected South Korean President Moon Jae-in announced key appointments to his administration at a news conference on Wednesday, Yonhap News Agency has reported.
Lee Nak-yon, the incumbent governor of South Jeolla Province, was tapped as the new prime minister.
"He has vast knowledge and experience in our social, state and global affairs as he has worked 21 years as a journalist, 14 years as a lawmaker and three years as a provincial governor," according to a press release.
Im Jong-seok, a former lawmaker who had worked as chief of staff for Moon's campaign, was named as the new president's new chief of staff.
Suh Hoon was picked to head the National Intelligence Service, the spy agency at which he was previously an official. Joo Young-hoon, an official at the presidential security service, has been asked to lead that service.
