Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday extended an invitation to his US counterpart Donald Trump to pay a state visit to China in 2017, Xinhua news agency reports.
Trump accepted the invitation with pleasure, and hoped to make the trip at an
early date, according to officials.
Xi is on a two-day visit to Florida, where he has met with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort.
Xi said that he is ready to work with Trump to push forward China-US relations from a new starting point.
"There are a thousand reasons to make the China-US relationship work, and no
reason to break it," Xi told Trump.
