A suicide bombing ripped through a police academy in the Somali capital Mogadishu, killing at least 10 people. Police said the suspect targeted police officers gathering for special morning exercises.
Al-Shabab - an extremist rebel group - quickly claimed responsibility. Its members are allied with al-Qaida and often carry out bombings and attacks in Somalia.
