Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying said China supports and respects Spain's efforts to maintain national unity under the principle of non-interference in another country's domestic affairs.

We understand and support the Spanish government's efforts in safeguarding its sovereignty, national solidarity and territorial integrity.We believe Spain is capable of ensuring its social order and citizens' rights within legal boundaries. China would love to develop friendly and cooperative relations with the Spanish government in various fields, based on the principles of respecting mutual sovereignty, territorial integrity and non-interference in another country's internal affairs.
