After Berlin, Chinese President Xi Jinping's next stop in Germany will be Hamburg, where he will attend the G20 summit.

Ahead of the high-profile two-day event, CGTN reporter Xi Jia interviewed Hamburg Mayor Olaf Scholz for his vision for the upcoming summit and expectations on China-Germany ties.

As the mayor of G20 host city, Scholz said they are under great pressure to ensure the success of the summit.

He also noted that since Hamburg is the largest “Chinese port” in Germany, the two countries are close in terms of international trade and transshipment.

“We would be greatly interested in promoting this original Belt and Road Initiative,” Scholz told CGTN.
