[]
Friday, the Winter Olympic cauldron will be lit in Pyeongchang but before that it still has some travelling to do. The torch making its way to Samcheok in South Korea's north Gangwon Province, where bearing duties fell to Chinese skier Han Xiaopeng.
The 35-year-old became the first Chinese to win a gold medal at the winter games when he won in the men's aerials at the 2006 edition in Turin. This is the second time Han has had the role of torch-bearer for an Olympics after carrying it in the run up to the 2008 Beijing summer games. Like many stops on this torch tour, this one contains plenty of history as it is the site of the Hwanseon Cave, the largest of its kind in Asia and was roughly formed 530 million years ago, but this is yet to be confirmed due to a lack of technology at the time.
