A forum for overseas Chinese students at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, US has highlighted opportunities for them under the Belt & Road Initiative.
The Penn Wharton China Summit 2017 wrapped up on Sunday after attracting business leaders to speak to more than 1,500 students.
Li Ning, legendary Chinese athlete and chairman of sports conglomerate Viva China Holdings, said he was excited about what the Belt and Road meant for his business.
"For us, the Belt and Road Initiative is a new stage in terms of opportunities in the market,” said Li.

Forum founder Xie Chengrun said he organized the event to inspire his fellow students. “I hope we overseas students can take advantage of our unique talent to develop careers with help from policies like the Belt and Road Initiative and supply-side reform.”
Thomas Smith, president and CEO of Sotheby’s, also talked about how helpful trade ties between China and the US were to the US.
"Not only does China assemble and make the things we consume, but also because, particularly for example, in my world, the Chinese buy a lot of things we sell. So anyway you look at it, it's a partnership that should have a bright future,” said Smith.
