The launch of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket has been canceled just 13 seconds before takeoff time due to an issue in the second-stage engine.
SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket was supposed to take off at 15:01 GMT Saturday from a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) launch pad in Cape Canaveral, Florida, which had not been used since the end of the space shuttle program nearly six years ago.
The rocket was carrying a Dragon capsule loaded with about 2,500 kilograms of supplies and science experiments for the International Space Station, a 100 billion US dollars research laboratory that flies about 400 kilometers above Earth.
The launch pad, named Launch Complex 39A, was originally built for the 1960s-era Apollo moon program. SpaceX signed a 20-year lease for the pad in 2014.
