We turn to board games and the ancient Chinese sport of Weiqi, known as Go in the west. The world number one from China, Ke Jie, who just won the ENN Cup World Weiqi Open Tournament, will once again play against artificial intelligence when he takes on a computer program in April.
Ke was beaten by the Google created program Alphago in their highly publicised match in May. After his loss, Ke was quite upset and said he would never play against a machine again because AlphaGo had advanced much faster than he thought. But the world number one has since reconsidered and said that he no longer thinks about his loss and there will be no harm in facing man-made machine once again. He added that playing AI is about challenging oneself, and he enjoys testing his skills against stronger opponents, and whether those test come against humans or machines, he's up for them.
