Cameroon overcame Egypt to secure a fifth Africa Cup of Nations title on Sunday, winning the final 2-1 in Libreville, Gabon. Ahead of the tournament, Cameroon looked unlikely to go far with eight players refusing to join the national side and manager Hugo Broos having to make do with young, inexperienced players. The Indomitable Lions showed their fighting spirit however on Sunday, equalizing after being one goal down, before Vincent Aboubakar hit the back of the net two minutes from time. This denied Egypt a record eighth title, while giving Cameroon their first trophy in 15 years.
