"Creating a shared future in a fractured world" is the theme of this year's Davos forum, and it's something Chinese President Xi Jinping has regularly touched on in his speeches, including his keynote address at Davos last year.
XI JINPING CHINESE PRESIDENT "Today, mankind has become a close-knit community of shared future. Countries have extensive, converging interests and are mutually dependent. All countries enjoy the right to development. At the same time, they should view their own interests in a broader context and refrain from pursuing them at the expense of others."
President Xi said to secure a better future for mankind, it was important for countries to coordinate their development. He said they should participate jointly in decision-making processes, enjoy their rights and shoulder their obligations equally. President Xi also called for creative solutions for the world's economic problems. On the challenges facing globalization, he said they should be addressed with courage instead of insecurity, adding that the world should seize every opportunity to cooperate and lead globalization in the right direction.
