China Birth Rate: Younger siblings made up over 50% of newborns in 2017

China's National Bureau of Statistics announced on Sunday, that more families are having a second-child.
The number of younger siblings born in China made up more than half of all newborns last year. That's up 11 percent from the year before. However, China's overall birthrate declined last year, due to changing demographics, changing attitudes among Chinese women, and couples choosing to wait to start a family.
