The DPRK insists that the United States and South Korea should permanently end all joint military exercises. The DPRK's official daily newspaper, Minju Joson, said that postponing the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military drills "is nothing but a cheap trick of the U-S". The daily says Washington wants to avoid taking responsibility for deliberately ramping up tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Earlier, Washington and Seoul agreed not to conduct any joint military drills until after the PyeongChang Winter Olympics next month.
