Goat with four horns spotted in Xinjiang

A four-horned goat was recently spotted by a group of photographers, who were in Zhaosu county, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, shooting nomads moving to new camps in spring. /CFP

The goat was a bit larger than the rest of the herd, weighing in at 60 kilograms. The chances of a goat having four horns are very rare, with only one in 10,000 born in such a way. /CFP

According to a local veterinarian, the reason for the goat having four horns is likely down to a genetic mutation, possibly caused by its mother eating an unhealthy diet while pregnant. /CFP
