President Xi Jinping to visit Russia and Germany

President Xi Jinping will make state visits to Russia and Germany between July 3-6, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Thursday. 

This will be Xi's sixth visit to Russia and the 21st time he has held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Li Huilai, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, said the two sides are expected to sign more than 10 cooperation documents.  

President Xi will also make a second visit to Germany to attend the 12th G20 Summit in Hamburg.  

"China and Germany maintain close communication and consultation on various regional and international issues under the framework of the G20 and many other multilateral mechanisms," said Vice Foreign Minister Wang Chao, "The two sides will make joint efforts to enhance global economic governance and boost world peace and development.” 

The G20 Summit will be held in Hamburg on July 7 and 8, with the theme of "Shaping an interconnected world". 

Leaders will discuss various issues such as the digital economy, trade, finance, energy, climate change and anti-terrorism.
