The DPRK test-fired a ballistic missile about 60 kilometers into eastern waters on Wednesday, an issue that dominated today's Chinese Foreign Ministry press conference.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said China urges all parties to exercise restraint and not to take provocative action. She added that China is willing to work with all parties to see the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

The effectiveness of Foreign Minister Wang Yi's "dual track" approach to resolving the issue was also questioned at the press conference -- given the DPRK has continued to launch ballistic missiles -- but Hua defended the policy and said China will continue to work hard at ways to find a solution.
She said the situation on the Korean Peninsula had been complicated for a long time, and finding a balanced solution which addresses both the symptoms and root causes was at the heart of China's "dual-track approach." Its ultimate goal is to see denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula and a sustainable peace mechanism.
Hua said China also proposed the "dual suspension approach", which calls on the DPRK to halt its nuclear and military programs and for the United States and South Korea to end their joint military exercises. She suggested that the relevant parties seriously consider China's proposals, and make efforts to pursue peace and stability in the region.
