The US Congress will hold hearings on the Trump administration's decision to not impose new sanctions on Moscow. The row came after a Treasury report put 210 Russians on notice for allegedly meddling in last year's election.
Senator Ben Cardin said the legislature was disappointed by Trump, whom the lawmaker said "is flying in the face of what Congress intended". Following the Treasury report, the State Department announced no new sanctions on Russia would be added. Democrats criticized the move as weak. But on Thursday, the Treasury confirmed more sanctions against Russian personnel and entities out of the so-called "Kremlin list". Moscow slammed the US accusations as "a witch hunt".
