Typhoon Tembin will land in Vietnam on Monday night or Tuesday early morning. Southern localities of Vietnam have organized an evacuation of nearly 1 million people.
Ho Chi Minh City is evacuating some 5,000 residents. Bac Lieu Province is evacuating nearly 366,000 people, and similar efforts are underway in nearby provinces. The fierce typhoon Tembin lashed the Philippines earlier, leaving a trail of death and destruction in its wake. More than 230 were killed, and about 70,000 left homeless. The rescue operation continues to search for survivors. The storm hit 389 villages across five regions in the Philippines.
