Two teams of canine contenders from 34 rescue shelters across the United States have hit the field for the 13th Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet on February 5, 2017. Team Ruff and Team Fluff competed in the puppy pile-up, which featured three puppies with special needs: Doobert (hearing-impaired), Lucky (three-legged) and Winston (hearing- and sight-impaired). All 39 puppies on the Starting Lineup are open for adoption. The puppies competed for the inaugural Petco Lombarky trophy. In 2016, the Puppy Bowl reached 9 million viewers on cable.
