Taiwan Earthquake: 4 buildings in Hualien collapsed or tilted
[]
Rescuers are pulling people to safety after the 40-year-old Marshal Hotel collapsed.
CHEN MING-HUI HOTEL WORKER "Only me, there was only me working the night shift. I don't know what happened to people upstairs."
(Reporter: "What happened the moment when the earthquake hit?")
"The situation then? I was calm originally. Who knows, if it should get bigger?"
Mainland tourists are among those who have been evacuated. One tourist from Fujian Province is in the hospital. Besides the Marshal Hotel, authorities say three other buildings have either collapsed or been knocked askew. The main road and sections of a highway have been closed. Rescuers are doing all they can to reach people trapped inside within the 72-hour "golden window", that's the time period when finding survivors is most critical.
