The death toll from the Grenfell Tower fire in west London has climbed to 17 and the figure is expected to rise further, police said on Thursday.
"There are 37 people receiving treatment, of which 17 are still in critical care," said London police commander Stuart Cundy in a televised statement.
Cundy said nothing to indicate the fire was linked to terrorism.
The fire rapidly engulfed the 24-storey building, which is home to around 600 people in the early hours of Wednesday.
