CGTN's Luo Yu reports on reactions to the Party leader's report from Zhengzhou in central China's Henan Province.

LUO YU ZHENGZHOU, HENAN PROVINCE "I'm at Zhengzhou University in central China's Henan Province. A lot of faculty members, administrative staff and university students here watched the opening session of the 19th CPC National Congress. Let's listen to what they thought about General Secretary and President Xi Jinping's speech."

DR. JING HUI, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR ZHENGZHOU UNIVERSITY "General Secretary Xi Jinping mentioned in his report that the social contradiction of contemporary China has been shifted to the people's pursuit of better life, and the imbalanced and uneven development. This is an accurate summary of the current situation in China. He also pointed out that we have to deepen supply-side structural reform, which serves as a springboard for people to pursue a better life. We will also progress in our products and improve efficiency in operations."

JIANG GUIFANG, PROFESSOR ZHENGZHOU UNIVERSITY "General Secretary Xi Jinping said in his report that education will be a priority, with particular attention given to higher education in China, following a connotation development strategy. Henan Province has long been plagued by inequality of education and unfair distribution of education resources. By listening to his report, we see the hope of promoting education in our province, and we are confident about the future development of the education system and our school."

UNIVERSITY STUDENT "The most impressive part of Mr. Xi Jinping's report is college student entrepreneurship. He proposed to build a learning-oriented and innovation-oriented society, and expand employment by encouraging business start-ups. I will give it a try if I have the chance to make good use of those preferential policies to start my own business."

UNIVERSITY STUDENT "Xi Jinping said that China does not allow any individual, organization or political party to split our country. As a college student, I will firmly defend the territorial integrity of our motherland."

University students are the future of the country and they are keeping a close eye on how the ruling party's most important political gathering will shape the future of China and its people. Luo Yu, CGTN, Zhengzhou, Henan Province.
