Storm Eleanor has been battering Ireland and the UK since Tuesday, and into Wednesday morning. The storm has led to heavy flooding and left thousands of homes without electricity. Parked cars were partly submerged on several streets of Galway city on the western coast of Ireland. Rescue personnel are going all out to help people stranded by the rising water. Warnings of possible disruptions to public transport have been issued. Forecasters say the rain and winds will ease gradually.
