Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim paid a visit to army headquarters in Ankara on Saturday.
The visit came as Turkey launched fresh airstrikes against US-backed Kurdish fighters in Syria's Afrin province. Yildirim said the strikes destroyed nearly all of Turkey's intended targets. According to Kurdish militia, the strikes killed six civilians and three fighters in the region. Free Syrian Army rebels are supporting Turkey's new military offensive, dubbed "Operation Olive Branch". Yildirim said that Turkish land forces will carry out "necessary activities" in Afrin province on Sunday, depending on developments in the region.
