According to China's Customs Administration, the US has been among the top three importers of China's solar panels. China's rapid expansion of renewable energy facilities has made headlines around the world.

According to the International Energy Agency, the country installed more than 34 gigawatts of solar capacity in 2016. This is more than double the figure for the US, and nearly half of the total added capacity worldwide that year. The largest solar farm in the world is a Chinese project called Longyangxia Dam Solar Park, which covers 30 square kilometers. And the world's largest floating solar farm recently opened in Anhui Province, in the east.
