Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono will pay an official visit to China at the weekend and hold talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

HUA CHUNYING CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTRY SPOKESPERSON "This will be Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono's first visit to China since he took the post. Relations between China and Japan are now moving in the right direction, but there are still many obstacles to overcome. We hope Taro Kono's visit to China will help implementation of the consensus reached by the two countries' leaders and improve and develop China-Japan ties."
