Smartphone Battles: Huawei wins court victory over Samsung
[]
Moving to the telecom sector. Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has won a court victory in a patent infringement case against Samsung.
The decision was announced by a local court in Shenzhen. The judge said Samsung violated fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory terms in licensing by deliberately delaying negotiations. The court ruled that Samsung must immediately stop production and sales of its smartphones in China. The court battle between Huawei and Samsung dates back to May 2016. Huawei sued Samsung in China and the US for infringement of its wireless communications patents. Samsung countersued Huawei a few months later in Beijing.
