A DPRK performing arts troupe staged a show in Gangneung on the eve of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics' opening day. Performers sang songs familiar to both the South and North. They also performed popular South Korean and foreign songs. The performance on Thursday included electric guitars and violins. The troupe consists of 140 members and they are due to perform again on Sunday. They arrived in South Korea on Tuesday via ferry. Their journey marks the first trip to South Korea by a DPRK vessel in years. The ferry will also serve as accommodation for the troupe during their South Korea visit.
