Former China Resources chairman pleads guilty to embezzlement

Song Lin, former chairman of state-owned China Resources Group, pled guilty to charges of bribery and embezzlement in Guangzhou Municipal Intermediate People’s Court on Monday.
Song was accused of taking advantage of his position as China Resources Group chairman to embezzle over 9.74 million yuan (1.42 million US dollars) between 2004 and 2013.
Song was also accused of accepting bribes worth 23.36 million yuan (3.41 million US dollars) between 2005 and 2012.
Song pled guilty to all charges in court.
Over 80 lawmakers, journalists and citizens attended the open trial.
