People around the world are staying up late to see the first meteor shower of 2018. The night spectacle, known as the Quadrantids, is expected to peak between the third and the fourth of January.
According to NASA, people may be able to see up to 40 meteors per hour each night. However, experts say this year could be a tough one to view, as the annual shower's peak will come just after a full moon. The Quadrantids meteor shower reportedly began on December 22nd. Beautiful images were captured over Changbai Mountain in Northeastern Jilin province two weeks ago.
