This is a clip of the Samjiyon Band, a mostly female art troupe, which consists of about 50 or 60 musicians.

It was formed in 2009 -- by the DPRK's last leader, Kim Jong Il -- in an effort to make music more freely available to the public.

The band members are in their early 20s and are known for their glamorous costumes and striking stage presence...

They play mostly popular classical music, and embed singing and dancing into their performances.

They often interact with their audience and encourage them to sing and dance along with them.

Unsurprisingly, their music is a huge hit in the country, and numbers like "We Have Longed To See You", and "Our Comrade Kim Jong Un have been praised by the country's leadership".

But the band isn't restricted to just local music. They also sang the theme songs from "The Lion King" and Mickey Mouse animation at a 2017 New Year concert.
