We begin in Taiwan, where at least nine people are dead, 265 injured and 62 still missing after Tuesday night's magnitude 6.5 earthquake in Hualien County.
The victims include three tourists from the mainland. Four buildings in Hualien have partially collapsed or tilted. Many of the missing are believed to be still trapped inside buildings, and rescuers continue their efforts to find survivors. At least 160 aftershocks including several measuring over magnitude five have followed the earthquake.
