One-state or two-state solution for the Palestinians?

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met with US President Trump on Wednesday at the White House, and the two leaders discussed whether a one-state or two-state solution should be adopted for the Palestinians.
As CGTN’s Stephanie Freid reports, a one-state solution is preferred by the ultra-ring wing sector in Israel but it would also lead to a question of who would be in control of the nation and the government. Therefore, it is not a solution as far as the Palestinians are concerned. 
The two-state solution seems to be the left-leaning and Palestinian wish. Abbas made this clear on Wednesday in talks with Trump: “Our strategic option is the realization of a two-state solution,” he said.
