A 280-member delegation from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is coming to South Korea today for the Winter Olympic Games. That's the word from Seoul's unification ministry. Sports Minister Kim II-guk is leading the delegation.
There are also three officials from the DPRK's National Olympic Committee, 229 cheerleaders, 26 Taekwondo demonstrators, and 21 journalists. They are to arrive via land, then go to the Olympics site by bus. The cheerleaders are expected to cheer for DPRK athletes and the Korean women's hockey team, as well as some athletes from the South. The Taekwondo demonstration group will have 4 performances in places including Pyeongchang, Sokcho and Seoul. Pyongyang agreed to send the delegation during last month's inter-Korean talks.
