German Chancellor Angela Merkel has called for a quick end to the last stretch of talks to form a government. Her statement comes as she headed into coalition talks with the Social Democrats on Friday. She added she was optimistic about the discussions. Four months after Germany's national election, a new government has still not been formed. If negotiations with the Social Democrats are successful, a government should be in place by April.
