China has been conducting massive military reforms in a bid to improve combat capabilities and its ability to defend itself.
In this episode, we find out how exactly reforms are being implemented in the special forces.
The People's Liberation Army Special Operations Forces, or SOF, is a branch of the PLA Ground Force. It specializes in rapid-response combat in a limited regional war under high-tech conditions, with commando operations, counter-terrorism, and intelligence gathering. But reforms are calling for a smarter military structure.
CGTN gained exclusive access to one unit in the Northern Theater Command -- taking a first-hand look at the army's transformation, we spoke to heroes who have trained hard to defend the nation.
